MyBox AC Sensor

Place of installation and connection

MyBox AC Sensor we place (install) in the main switchboard of the building with access to the main supply of electricity (from the distribution network) or in a place where there is a residual overflow from a solar source. The measurement takes place using measuring coils for all three phases.

The direction of the measuring coils is determined by the arrow inside the coil when it is opened.

Installation is always carried out by a trained electrician. The sensor is powered by a 12V power source, which is included in the delivery. It is advisable to connect the 12V power source to a separate circuit breaker.

When combined with a solar inverter, we strongly recommend checking the polarity with the inverter switched off, where the current values should be positive on both sensors. At the same time, the inverter should not be set to limit the flow to the network, or the flow must be set to a higher value than the charging threshold (SOLAR mode).

Where to place the sensors and where to measure?

MyBox AC Sensor can be set in several modes for different measurement uses.

MAINS-main circuit breaker we place (install) the measurement in the main switchboard of the building with access to the main circuit breaker. The measurement takes place at the input or output of the main circuit breaker on all three phases L1 – L3.

Solar sensor – installation of measuring coils in the place where there is the resulting overflow from the solar source and the installed MyBox charging station.

The recommended installation connection of the charging station for maximum use of solar overflows is between the last connected appliance and the main supply (distribution).

What do the different AC Sensor modes mean?

MyBox AC Sensor can be used for several types of measurements. We use it in several modes:

  • MAINS (Main Circuit Breaker) – Setting the sensor in the "Main circuit breaker" mode is used to measure the current on 3 phases on the "feed" from the distribution network.
  • SOLAR (Solar sensor) – When there is a need to measure flows from a solar source, the AC Sensor is set to "Solar measurement" mode, and thanks to this, it provides the measured data to the charging station. The data is used in the solar management of the charging station.
  • DLM (DLM external) - measurement mode when controlling the performance of multiple charging stations

How to connect (pair) the sensor with the charging station?

After adding the AC Sensor device in the MyBox mobile application, the sensor must be connected (paired) with the charging station in order to transfer the measured data.

Use the MyBox mobile application and open your AC Sensor device.

  • Open the bookmark Pairing, which is ready for automatic setup and connection to the charging station.
  • Select "Device mode", with which you define the character of the measurement (Main measurementSolar sensor, DLM external).
  • Run the "Find the station" by clicking the button "SEARCH".
  • Open it "Search results" and select the charging station to which you want to pair the AC Sensor.
  • Press the button Use and the automatic pairing and setting function of both devices will start.

Wi-Fi communication
The Wi-Fi network of both paired devices must be the same, with the same subnet mask.
Individual devices (AC Sensor and MyBox charging station) must see each other within the network (it is possible to test with the PING command to the given devices within the network.)
Unable to turn on Wi-Fi network in isolated mode. Communication between the AC Sensor takes place in a local context, not via the cloud.

Solar management

What is required for proper functioning?

Correct measurement of the flow rates from the solar source is important.

How and where to measure solar flows can be found in the MyBox AC Sensor section in the chapter "Where to place the sensors and where to measure?” for mode Solar sensor.

Furthermore, it is important to have correctly adjusted converter (inverter) of the solar source, which must not be set to flow limitation mode.

Switching solar management on and off

The charging station is equipped with the "Solar Management" function, which can be easily turned on or off in the mobile application in the "Solar" tab.

ON (on) – solar management is on.

OFF (off) – solar management is off.

The state of solar management

In the MyBox mobile application, in the "Solar" tab, the measurement status of the solar sensor can be clearly seen in the form of color signaling and the name of the status.

The status is displayed in the "Solar status" field in several modes.

OK (green) – The solar management is working correctly and receiving the measured values from the solar sensor. The solar sensor is correctly paired with the charging station.

Chyba (red) – the solar sensor does not provide measured values to the charging station or the solar sensor is not paired.

Note: After previously pairing the MyBox AC Sensor with the charging station, you must always restart both devices and then check the status.

Solar mode settings

In the case of setting the solar mode of the charging station, several functional modes can be selected for the resulting charging of the electric car.

  • PAUSE is not an overflow (PAUSE_NO_OVERFLOW) – In case the overflow value does not reach the set value “Flow threshold. value', charging will be suspended. As soon as the flow value increases and exceeds the set “Flow threshold. values" charging will resume.

Example of charging from solar overflow only:
In case you want to use only solar overflows for charging the electric car. Setting the "Threshold Flow" value. value” will be set to 6A.
Charging will only start when the solar flow rate reaches 6A. If the solar flow value of 6A is not reached, charging is suspended.

Charging example for 3A overflow:
Recommendations for setting "Flow threshold. value” to 3A.
Solar mode will start charging at a value of 3 A (flow) + 3 A from the distribution network. The resulting charging current is therefore 6A.
If the set flow threshold value is not reached, charging is always suspended and waits for the set flow level to be reached.

  • CHARGE_AT_MIN_WITH_OWERFLOW (CHARGE_AT_MIN_WITH_OVERFLOW) – The charging station always charges the electric car min. charging current (6A) and in case of overflow from the solar source, it will also use this overflow.

Example:
Recommendations for setting "Flow threshold. value" to 3 A.
Solar mode will start charging at a value of 3 A (flow) + 3 A from the distribution network. The resulting charging current is therefore 6 A.
If the overflow value is higher than 3 A, the resulting charging current is 6 A (composed of the amount of overflow and the rest from the distribution network up to the value of 6 A (minimum current required to start charging).
If the flow rate is 6 A or higher – the source for charging the electric car is only the flow from the solar power source.

  • Charge with a minimum (CHARGE_AT_MIN) – The charging of the electric car always takes place with a minimum charging current of 6 A. It does not matter the size of the overflow.

Charge authorization (RFID)

What is a recharge authorization?

If your charging station is equipped with an RFID reader, you have the option to use it or not.

The entire authorization setting (RFID) can be controlled using MyBox mobile application in the "RFID" tab.

The area for RFID tag authorization is marked with a symbol on the front panel of the charging station, see picture.

Turn charging authorization on and off

In the mobile application in the tab "RFID"authorization can be turned off or on using the ON and OFF buttons.

If authorization is switched on, charging always starts after successful authorization with the RFID tag attached to the reader.

The RFID authorization area is located under the RFID symbol on the front panel of the station.

Setting the authorization mode

In case of active RFID authorization, it is necessary to set the authorization mode of the charging station. Several functional modes can be selected for the resulting charging authorization method.

  • Off (Disabled) – the authorization mode is not set and therefore charging authorization is not functional
  • Local white list – the selected setting uses the internal list of RFID tags for charging authorization.
  • OCPP authorization (OCPP) – in case of choosing the authorization mode using the OCPP protocol, it is necessary to have the charging station correctly connected to the backend that uses this communication protocol.
More about setting up and connecting the charging station to the backend (remote management) using OCPP can be found in the separate section "Connection and setup using OCPP"

Adding and removing an RFID tag

Local white list
For the set authorization mode "Local list", it is necessary to add RIFD tags directly to the list in the charging station.
Use the MyBox mobile application to add, remove or delete the entire list.

Open the device of the charging station a select the “RFID".

Adding an RFID tag – to add the RFID tag to the local list of the charging station, press the ADD button
The LED light signaling of the charging station glows white in the middle and waits for the application of an RFID tag (card, chip, key fob, etc.).
Successful addition is signaled by the development of white color from the center to the edges of the LED strip.

Removing the RFID tag - to remove the RFID tag from the local list for charging authorization, proceed in the same way as for "Adding an RFID tag".
Press the REMOVE button for the "Remove RFID tag" function and attach the tag you want to remove from the local list to the location for RFID identification.

Deleting the entire list - to delete all stored RFID tags in the local list of the charging station once, use the function "Delete the entire list".
After pressing the DELETE ALL button, all saved tags will be deleted.
