EV charger subsidies in Czechia for 2026 are available from several sources – households use Nová zelená úsporám (New Green Savings), companies and entrepreneurs use the Modernisation Fund and operational programmes, and municipalities and apartment buildings use dedicated calls. Grant amounts range from roughly CZK 15,000 for a home wallbox to hundreds of thousands of crowns for high-power DC stations. This overview summarises who is eligible for what, how much you can get and how to proceed.
Important note: Subsidy programmes change over time – allocations, application deadlines and conditions all shift, and in 2026 Nová zelená úsporám in particular underwent a major overhaul. Treat all amounts and dates below as indicative and always verify the current status directly with the provider (SFŽP – the State Environmental Fund, MPO – the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Národní rozvojová banka – the National Development Bank, or the relevant region). This article is informational, not binding subsidy advice. CZK = Czech koruna; CZK 25,000 is roughly EUR 1,000.
A common mix-up to avoid: this article is about a subsidy for the charging station (wallbox), not for the car itself. If you are looking for support to buy an electric car, we cover that separately in subsidies up to CZK 200,000 for buying an electric car – that is a completely different programme with different conditions.

Subsidy for a home EV charger (households)
The main instrument for ordinary households is Nová zelená úsporám (NZÚ), administered by the State Environmental Fund (SFŽP). For a home wallbox at a family house you can get CZK 15,000 per charging point, with a maximum of 2 charging points per house (i.e. up to CZK 30,000), up to 50 % of eligible costs. The condition is that the station has dynamic load management and that support is granted only in combination with another measure (typically a photovoltaic installation), not on its own.
A major change came in 2026: the programme was substantially reworked. For most households, support is shifting from direct grants to interest-free (subsidised) loans, where the state covers the interest, while the direct grant remains primarily for low-income households (NZÚ Light). Note the timing: applications for the interest-free loan open only in June 2026 and banks start offering it from September 2026 – until then it is a transitional period. So verify the current conditions for charging stations directly on the SFŽP / novazelenausporam.cz website.
One condition stays consistent across all variants: it must be a smart charging station with power regulation that can react to the state of the electrical grid and not exceed the contracted power limit. The MyBox Home, with dynamic load management support, is one example. For practical buying advice, see our article on what to focus on when choosing a home charging station.
Tip: The station itself is only part of the cost. Equally important is the correct preparation of the supply line and circuit breaker – see preparing for charging-station installation in new and existing houses. Upgrading the main breaker is not always an eligible subsidy cost.
Subsidies for EV chargers for companies and entrepreneurs
Companies, sole traders and business entities draw support through different channels than households. The key source is the Modernisation Fund (financed from emission-allowance revenues, administered by SFŽP) and the operational programmes managed by MPO and the Ministry of Transport.
For non-public (company) charging for own use, the Modernisation Fund in some calls supports the purchase of charging stations as an add-on to buying electric vehicles. The currently documented title is the call for electrifying freight transport (TRANSCom No. 2/2025, category N2/N3 vehicles): you can acquire charging stations at a ratio of max. 1 station per 2 trucks purchased, with a grant of max. 30 % of the station's cost, up to CZK 50,000 per station (applications 2 Feb–30 Nov 2026, allocation CZK 960 million). Any other business titles (e.g. a non-public wallbox for passenger cars) should be verified with the provider – a separate broad call for company wallboxes is not currently documented.
Historically, companies and sole traders also used the Záruka Elektromobilita ("Electromobility Guarantee") programme from the National Recovery Plan, where you could obtain up to CZK 50,000 (AC), CZK 100,000 (DC up to 40 kW) and CZK 150,000 (DC over 40 kW) for installing a charging station. However, due to high demand the programme was closed early in October 2024 – for 2026, watch for any successor calls.
For companies it is crucial that the station can measure and bill consumption (e.g. for employee reimbursement or re-invoicing). That is what stations with a certified (MID) energy meter are for, such as MyBox Plus; for operational use within a company, see MyBox Profi. Why a certified meter is worth it despite the higher price is explained in a separate article. For the broader context of company charging and savings (including ESG), see smart charging of company electric vehicles and the charging for business pillar.
Subsidies for apartment buildings, HOAs and municipalities
Apartment buildings and HOAs (in Czech "SVJ") have a separate NZÚ variant with a higher cap per charging point – CZK 25,000 per charging point (CZK 35,000 per point for public/municipal buildings), with the number of supported charging points not exceeding the number of dwelling units. The condition is again smart control, ensuring that parallel charging of several cars does not exceed the building's connection capacity – that is, dynamic load management (DLM). For inspiration on how this works in practice, see the case study of the HOA at Trnkovo náměstí, which combined photovoltaics with smart charging.
Developers and owners of new buildings should also bear in mind the legislative obligations to prepare charging infrastructure in new builds – these apply regardless of subsidies and are described in our article on charging stations at new buildings: a 2025 obligation.
Subsidies for public DC fast chargers
For operators of public charging infrastructure (networks, logistics, municipalities, fuel stations), the main instrument is OP Doprava (OPD3), managed by the Ministry of Transport:
Standard charging in cities (AC/DC up to 22 kW) – call No. 40: support up to 80 % of costs, indicatively CZK 220,000–320,000 per pedestal station (per call documentation), applications until 27 Jan 2026.
Fast charging for passenger cars (DC min. 150 kW) – call No. 41: indicatively base CZK 1,900,000 / station + CZK 10,000 / kW (per call documentation), support up to 55 %, applications until 27 Jan 2026.
DC with battery storage (300 kW+) – call No. 37: support up to 60 %, battery indicatively CZK 13,000 / kWh (per call documentation), applications until 31 Mar 2026.
These calls generally require public accessibility of the station. Powerful DC stations from the Alpitronic range are well suited to such projects – HYC50, HYC200 or HYC400.
How to apply for a subsidy (general procedure)
Identify your group (household / company / HOA / public operator) – this determines the programme.
Verify an open call with the provider, plus its current allocation and deadline.
Choose a station that meets the conditions (usually smart load management, and for companies, consumption metering) – see the product overview on the charging stations pillar.
Prepare the project and budget, and check eligible versus ineligible costs.
Submit the application (often "first come, first served") and, after completion, provide the settlement documents.

Frequently asked questions
Will I get a subsidy for a home EV charger (wallbox) in 2026?
Yes, for households the main source is Nová zelená úsporám. You can get CZK 15,000 per charging point, max. 2 points per family house (up to CZK 30,000), up to 50 % of cost, and only in combination with another measure (e.g. photovoltaics) and with a station that has dynamic load management. In 2026, moreover, the programme changed and for most households support is shifting to interest-free loans (applications from June 2026, banks from September 2026), with the direct grant remaining mainly for low-income households (NZÚ Light). Verify current conditions with SFŽP.
What is the difference between a subsidy for an electric car and for a charging station?
They are two distinct programmes. The subsidy for buying an electric car is separate support with its own rules, which we describe in our article on subsidies up to CZK 200,000 for buying an electric car. This overview is exclusively about the subsidy for a charging station (wallbox or DC station) and its installation.
How much can companies and sole traders get for a charging station?
Companies and entrepreneurs draw support through the Modernisation Fund and operational programmes. The amount varies by call – in the currently documented TRANSCom No. 2/2025 call (freight transport) the station is an add-on to a vehicle purchase, with support of max. 30 % up to CZK 50,000 per station. The historical Záruka Elektromobilita programme offered up to CZK 50,000 (AC) and CZK 100,000–150,000 (DC), but was closed early (October 2024). Watch for current calls and verify separate business titles with the provider.
Does the charging station have to be "smart" to qualify for a subsidy?
For the household and apartment-building NZÚ programmes, yes – the condition is a station with power regulation (smart dynamic load management) that reacts to the grid state and does not exceed the contracted power limit. The MyBox Home, with dynamic load management (DLM), meets this.
Can HOAs and apartment buildings qualify for a subsidy?
Yes. Under NZÚ, an apartment building has a separate variant with a higher cap per charging point – CZK 25,000 per point (CZK 35,000 per point for public buildings); the number of points cannot exceed the number of dwellings. The condition is smart load management because of the connection capacity.
