What is charging authorization?

If your charging station is equipped with an RFID reader, you have the option to use it or not.

The entire authorization setting (RFID) can be controlled using the MyBox mobile app in the "RFID" tab.

The area for RFID tag authorization is marked with a symbol on the front panel of the charging station.

Where can I download the MyBox charging station app?

Accepted Answer

You can download the app for MyBox charging stations from the app store of your operating system. We currently have apps for Android and iOS (Apple).

What is needed for proper solar management operation?

Accepted Answer

Correct measurement of overflow from the solar source is important.

How and where to measure solar overflow can be found in the MyBox AC Sensor section in the chapter "Where to place sensors and where to measure?" for the Solar sensor mode.

It is also important to have the inverter (converter) of the solar source correctly set, which must not be set to overflow limitation mode.

Installation location and wiring of AC Sensor

Accepted Answer

The MyBox AC Sensor is installed in the main distribution board of the building with access to the main power supply (from the distribution network) or at the location where there is remaining overflow from the solar source. Measurement is performed using measuring coils for all three phases.

The direction of the measuring coils is determined by the arrow inside the coil when opened.

Installation is always performed by a trained electrician. The sensor is powered by a 12V source, which is included in the delivery. It is advisable to connect the 12V power supply to a separate circuit breaker.

When combined with a solar inverter, we strongly recommend checking the polarity with the inverter turned off, where the current values should be positive on both sensors.

Turning solar management on and off

Accepted Answer

The charging station is equipped with a "Solar Management" function, which can be easily turned on or off in the mobile app in the "Solar" tab.

ON (enabled) – solar management is enabled.
OFF (disabled) – solar management is disabled.

Question 6

I changed my phone. How do I pair the app with the MyBox charging station again?

Accepted Answer

The solution is simple.

Just download the MyBox app again and log in with the username you used when registering and pairing the device.

Where to place sensors and where to measure?

Accepted Answer

The MyBox AC Sensor can be set up in several modes for different measurement purposes.

MAINS - main circuit breaker: measurement is placed in the main distribution board of the building with access to the main circuit breaker. Measurement takes place at the input or output of the main circuit breaker on all three phases L1 – L3.

Solar sensor: installation of measuring coils at the location where there is resulting overflow from the solar source and the installed MyBox charging station.

The recommended installation connection of the charging station for maximum use of solar overflow is between the last connected appliance and the main supply (distribution).

Turning charging authorization on and off

Accepted Answer

In the mobile app in the "RFID" tab, authorization can be turned on or off using the ON and OFF buttons.

When authorization is enabled, charging always starts only after successful authorization with an RFID tag placed on the reader.

The RFID authorization area is located under the RFID symbol on the front panel of the station.

Solar management status

In the MyBox mobile app in the "Solar" tab, you can clearly see the status of the solar sensor measurement in the form of color signaling and status name.

The status is displayed in the "Solar status" field in several modes:

OK (green) – Solar management is working correctly and receiving measured values from the solar sensor. The solar sensor is correctly paired with the charging station.

Error (red) – the solar sensor does not provide measured values to the charging station or the solar sensor is not paired.

Note: After previous pairing of the MyBox AC Sensor with the charging station, it is always necessary to restart both devices and then check the status.

What do the different AC Sensor modes mean?

The MyBox AC Sensor can be used for multiple types of measurement. We use it in several modes:

• MAINS (Main circuit breaker) – Setting the sensor to "Main circuit breaker" mode is used to measure current on 3 phases on the "supply" from the distribution network.

• SOLAR (Solar sensor) – When measuring overflow from a solar source is needed, the AC Sensor is set to "Solar measurement" mode, and thanks to this it provides measured data to the charging station.

• DLM (External DLM) – measurement mode when controlling the power of multiple charging stations.

Setting authorization mode

Accepted Answer

When RFID authorization is active, the authorization mode of the charging station must be set. Several functional modes can be selected for the resulting authorization method of charging.

• Disabled – authorization mode is not set and therefore charging authorization is non-functional

• Local white list – the selected setting uses the internal list of RFID tags for charging authorization.

• OCPP authorization (OCPP) – when selecting the authorization mode using OCPP protocol, the charging station must be correctly connected to the backend that uses this communication protocol.

Setting solar mode regimes

Accepted Answer

When setting the solar mode of the charging station, several functional modes can be selected for the resulting charging of the electric vehicle.

• PAUSE when no overflow (PAUSE_NO_OVERFLOW) – If the overflow value does not reach the set "Overflow threshold value", charging will be paused. Once the overflow value increases and exceeds the set "Overflow threshold value", charging will resume.

Example of charging only from solar overflow: If you want to use only solar overflow for charging the electric vehicle. The "Overflow threshold value" setting will be set to 6A. Charging will start only when the solar overflow value of 6A is reached.

• CHARGE_AT_MIN_WITH_OVERFLOW – The charging station always charges the electric vehicle with min. charging current (6A) and in case of overflow from the solar source, it also uses this overflow.

• Charge at minimum (CHARGE_AT_MIN) – Charging of the electric vehicle always takes place with a minimum charging current of 6A. The size of the overflow does not matter.

Question 13

Adding and removing RFID tags

Local white list: For the "Local list" authorization mode, RFID tags need to be added directly to the list in the charging station.

To add, remove or delete the entire list, use the MyBox mobile app.

Open the charging station device and select the "RFID" tab.

Adding RFID tag – to add an RFID tag to the local list of the charging station, press the ADD button. The LED light signaling of the charging station lights up white in the center and waits for the RFID tag to be attached. Successful addition is signaled by the white color spreading from the center to the edges of the LED strip.

Removing RFID tag – to remove an RFID tag from the local list, press the REMOVE button and attach the tag you want to remove from the local list.

Deleting entire list – to delete all stored RFID tags at once, use the "Delete entire list" function. After pressing the DELETE ALL button, all stored tags will be deleted.

Question 14

How to connect (pair) sensor with charging station?

Accepted Answer

After adding the AC Sensor device in the MyBox mobile app, the sensor must be connected (paired) with the charging station for data transfer.

Use the MyBox mobile app and open your AC Sensor device.

1. Open the Pairing tab, which is ready for automatic setup and connection with the charging station.
2. Select "Device mode", which defines the type of measurement (Main measurement, Solar sensor, External DLM).
3. Start the "Find station" function by clicking the "SEARCH" button.
4. Open "Search results" and select the charging station you want to pair the AC Sensor with.
5. Press the Apply button and the automatic pairing and setup function for both devices will start.

Wi-Fi communication: The Wi-Fi network of both paired devices must be the same, with the same subnet mask.
