GLS is one of the leading providers of logistics and parcel services in Europe and has long been expanding its fleet with low-emission and electric vehicles. As part of the modernization of its central depot in Jihlava, building a robust and efficiently managed charging infrastructure became the key step – one that supports both daily operations and the future development of e-mobility.
To deliver the project, GLS chose MyBox, which supplied and installed the complete charging infrastructure including intelligent power management.
Project brief
The goal of the project was to:
build a charging infrastructure with sufficient capacity for the operational fleet
ensure efficient power management across the entire site
minimize the impact on the existing energy infrastructure
create a solution ready for further expansion
maintain a unified visual style matching the GLS brand

The implemented solution
Installation of MyBox Profi AC charging stations
A total of 20 MyBox Profi AC charging stations were installed at the central depot. The stations are arranged in two separate rows according to the operational needs of the site:
12 stations in a row primarily for charging delivery vans (the logistics-area car park)
8 stations in a row by the administrative building
This makes it possible to divide the charging infrastructure efficiently by type of operation and ensures the smooth daily running of the depot. The stations are finished in white with the GLS logo printed on them, so they blend naturally into the visual identity of the site while also giving the depot a polished, professional look.

DC fast charging
The solution also includes a 300 kW Alpitronic DC fast charger, which enables rapid charging of selected vehicles and complements the AC infrastructure for maximum operational flexibility. The infrastructure is also designed with further expansion in mind – additional AC and DC charging points are planned in the future as the fleet’s needs grow.
Key elements of the solution
20× MyBox Profi AC charging station
layout across two operational zones (logistics / administration)
individual station branding (GLS design)
Alpitronic DC fast charger (300 kW)
combination of AC and DC charging for maximum flexibility
dynamic load management including quarter-hour peak control
a robust solution suited to logistics operations
readiness for further expansion of the infrastructure

Dynamic load management (DLM)
The entire charging infrastructure is managed by a dynamic load management (DLM) system that ensures the optimal distribution of available capacity across the site. The system controls all 20 MyBox Profi AC charging stations and the Alpitronic 300 kW DC station in real time.
Management also includes quarter-hour power-peak control, which prevents the reserved power from being exceeded and avoids unnecessary penalties from the distributor. This allows the available power to be used efficiently without the risk of overloading the grid. At the same time, the solution minimizes the need to intervene in the existing energy infrastructure and enables stable operation even under heavy load.
Project benefits
Efficient fleet operation – sufficient charging capacity for daily logistics operations without limitations.
Optimized energy performance – smart management including monitoring of quarter-hour maxima ensures maximum use of the available energy.
Charging flexibility – the combination of AC and DC makes it possible to adapt charging to different vehicle types and operating scenarios.
Scalability – the infrastructure is ready for further expansion with both AC and DC stations.
Unified design – the station branding supports the visual identity and professional appearance of the depot.
Stable, trouble-free operation – the solution is fully functional and stable, with no need for additional interventions.
Conclusion
The deployment of charging infrastructure at the GLS central depot in Jihlava represents a functional and scalable solution that meets the demands of modern logistics. The combination of AC and DC charging, intelligent power management including quarter-hour peak control, and readiness for further development create a stable foundation for the continuing electrification of the fleet.
The project confirms that well-designed infrastructure enables long-term, reliable operation without the need for additional interventions.
